Week in Review April 10th-14th

A week of bad trades really sums up the moves by the Overnight Fund this go around. Overall the fund actually did profit (minimally) but there was a lot left on the table in terms of what could have been.

As you can see below I only called 40% correct this week, but cut loses fairly quickly with the exception of AKS. I actually had a decent profit going from AKS on Friday evening but it soon turned ugly throughout the weekend and ended up with me getting turned around to the tune of 6% (3% gain to 3% loss).

As promised we will look at my biggest winner, RUN, and the little of 7.35% gain that I ended up obtaining. RTTR was right behind it at 7.21% and could have been over 20% if I would have been more patient and trusted my price target. Anyways, let's take a look at RUN...

So my RUN purchase wasn't a traditional overnight as I ended up holding it for multiple market days because I knew it had more after watching it on Friday the 7th. Where the cross hairs are located indicates my time of purchase late on Thursday April 6th. I was watching the scanner (and the 30 min charts) and when it popped with heavy volume towards EOD and the MACD, which had recently crossed, was about to turn positive I jumped in. RUN has a heavy amount of short float so I expected some coverage into Friday's close as well.

One of RUN's major resistance levels of Friday was $5.30 as it hovered there most of the afternoon. It broke this resistance late in the day, had an RSI that was just touching overbought, and again had some heavy EOD volume, which is why I decide to hold and risk the weekend hold.

It ended up working out nicely as I held again almost the entire day and ended up selling for over 7% profit after the MACD reversed and headed downward.

While this ended up as a well played buy and sell, my calls were not great this week. I will learn from my mistakes and march forward.
